Lake Tahoe and Layers

Arta Fact #3: If You’re Looking For a Fashion Forward Ski Town With Phenomenal Food, Go To Tahoe

I finally took my first trip to Lake Tahoe — I fell IN LOVE, to say the least. It was a really long drive from San Diego, but definitely worth it. The ride was so breathtaking, I seriously felt like I was in a movie.

Since its been so warm in San Diego, I was super excited to wear my favorite boots – they’ve been sitting in my closet since last winter, so the separation anxiety was really starting to kick in. I absolutely loved the weather in Tahoe.; the strong sun, bright snow, and crisp air from the high altitude made for the perfect layering situation. I was able to wear my sweater and vest when running around town all day and threw on my leather jacket as the sun began to set or when we were in shadier areas.

One thing that really blew me away about Tahoe was the food. I quickly found my favorite food joint – Jax Diner in Truckee, CA. I had the crab cake eggs benny (pictured below) and my boyfriend stuck with the traditional Corned Beef hash. Both were phenomenal.

Below are a few more of my favorite pictures from the trip. I was really in love with the way the sand, snow, and lake blended together – the contrasting textures and colors are so inspirational. I am definitely going to attempt playing with sleek whites, soft blues, and rugged browns in the near future. I’m excited to see what that will look like – stay tuned!
