Arta Fact #7: Juxtapose soft, feminine pieces with rugged accessories for the ultimate hippie chic look
I am really starting to get used to this California winter. We’ve had weekend after weekend of incredible weather. Went to the Sunday Hillcrest Farmer’s Market yesterday. Its my favorite farmer’s market in all of San Diego and is luckily 5 minutes away from my apartment! They have everything you could ever want..
Antibiotic-free produce, organic herbs, raw honey, free-range meat, unpasteurized milk, hemp-based products, fresh pressed juices, homemade scrubs and lotions, gluten-free desserts, artisan jewelry, fresh flowers, and not to mention the delicious cooked food…this market is literally the cream of the crop!
It was a beautiful day out so we got there nice and early to make sure our favorite goodies didn’t sell out. It isn’t quite summer yet here, so I was feeling something cute and feminine but still not too summer-y and comfortable for shopping around the market. I went with this white shift dress with lace bell sleeves. I really LOVE everything about the 70s, specifically the flow-y, loose clothing, so its something you will see incorporated in my looks a lot. I love the sleeves of this dress from LuLus, but it is also what makes it a little more feminine than other dresses I usually go for. I played on the feminine vs rugged look by juxtaposing the lace and bell sleeves on the dress with the less polished look of the suede strap boots, felt hat, and chained leather bag.
