Shooting with Nesha Torres (@ShotByNesha)
With a successful brand comes strong content AND beautiful imagery. I’ve been focusing a lot on the imagery side of my brand lately and I’m finally ready to bring the two together!
One of my first shoots in San Diego was with Nesha Torres. We shot a few months ago, but it’s still one of my favorites. I had been following her on Instagram for a while (@shotbynesha – check her out!) and was really excited to work with her. She has an amazing eye and is such a bad-ass babe.
Nesha’s experience as model definitely gives her an advantage when shooting. She gave strong feedback and helped with posing in a way that someone on the other side of the lens could actually understand. Her spunky personality, good vibes, and creativity made this shoot a blast – I seriously loved working with her!
We did two looks for this shoot. My focus was incorporating some of my favorite classic kicks to downplay the looks. It’s one of my favorite styling tricks.
AF Style Tip: Wearing classic sneakers with a dressy or sexy outfit brings an element of playfulness and breaks the intensity of your look
The shoot turned out to be a mix of edgy, sporty, and editorial.
The Moss Two Piece from Reformation paired with my classic Adidas shelltops. If you’ve ready any of my previous posts, you know my style is somewhere between girly-girl and tomboy. Skirts or dresses with boots or sneakers will ALWAYS be a go-to for me.
AF Style Tip: Mixing silk and leather will always give your look an edge
top half babe, bottom half ready to kick ass
One piece swimsuit by Melissa Odabash (Similar). I received this as a gift from my boss when I working for Melissa Odabash and loved it, but didn’t sport one pieces too often. Since bodysuits are back in style, I’ve been wearing this baby every chance I get.
AF Style Tip: Dupe your trendy one piece bathing suits as a body suit!
Threw in my black high-top converse to tone down the sexy and tone up the fun.
AF Style Tip: Converse come in men’s sizing, which can be confusing. Subtract 2 from your shoe size (e.g I’m an 8W – 2 = 6M). However, since the brand runs a bit big, size down by half (e.g I’m a 5.5M)
Lot more shoots coming down the pipe, stay tuned!
